Thanks to the good connections with public transport, even your car can enjoy a few well-deserved days of holiday. While you can explore our Blue Valley and its surroundings by bus & train in summer, a ski bus and ski train are also available in winter so that you can reach the nearby Kronplatz skiing area in all comfort and without any stress. If you possess the Guest Pass Antholzertal, you can even travel for free on all public transport!
The villages of the Antholz valley are connected by bus line 431 to the public bus network. Between Lake Antholz and the train station in Olang, the bus runs every 30 minutes, ensuring a reliable connection both within the valley and to regional transport links.
From there you can either take the train in the direction of Innichen or Franzensfeste, or the city bus to the valley station of the Gassl cable car in order to reach the Kronplatz.

Current informationIn summer, South Tyrol can be explored "car-free" by bus and train: Here you can find out how it works. Especially if you take your bike on board, there are a few things to keep in mind.
more informationBicycle transport may be limited on some services. A great alternative: rental bikes!
Taking a bike with you on public transport in South Tyrol is subject to a charge, and the capacity for transporting bikes may be limited for reasons of space and safety. Please note that transporting passengers will always be given priority over bicycles, and that increased passenger numbers may require on-board staff to refuse access with a bike. But there are a number of options and alternatives to choose from.
Day pass to transport a bike: 7 EUR
Day passes for bicycle transport are available from all südtirolmobil ticket machines, ticket offices and sales points. They can be used for unlimited journeys on the day on which you first activate them. Remember to check in at the start of each journey.
This fee apply to all südtirolmobil public transport within South Tyrol and on regional trains all the way to Trento. For train journeys going south beyond Trento, interregional bike tickets are available from Trenitalia. For train journeys going north or east beyond the border, bike tickets are available from ÖBB and VVT for the Austrian leg of your journey (e.g. Brennero/Brenner – Innsbruck or San Candido/Innichen – Lienz).
Bicycles that can be transported for free include:
- kick scooters and motorised/electric scooters, as long as they are folded, can generally be carried free of charge as hand luggage. Alternatively, on trains, scooters and e-scooters can also be carried without being folded – at the same rate as for transporting a bicycle.
To make traveling on public transportation fun for you and your dog, there are a few rules to follow.
more informationIf sufficient space is available, pets can travel on public transport at the responsibility of the passenger transporting them. The holder must take all necessary precautions to avoid injury or disturbance to other passengers.
Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times and may not occupy seats. Except for guide dogs, which may travel without a muzzle unless passengers or staff request it, dogs must wear a muzzle.
Pets carried in a suitable transport bag or box are treated like luggage and therefore travel free of charge.
Please note that pets not transported in a box can be carried with one of the following tickets:
These fares apply to public transport within the südtirolmobil network in South Tyrol and on regional trains all the way to Trento.
